In this episode we talk about how to ensure you’re starting strong in 2022.
This is the time of year when we like to look forward. To think about the new things we want to go and do. But before we dive into goal planning, there’s something important that comes first.
Mindset. And specifically, a growth mindset.
In this episode, I share three mindset filters that’ll help you set and then go after those big new goals. They are:
- Be future focused
- No limits or boundaries
- Believe it is possible for you
Most of us tend to set goals based on the results we have today. But that’s limiting. Because it’s only about optimizing or improving on what we have today. Ideally, we go into goal-planning with a mindset that is future focused.
Also many of us reign ourselves in when we’re goal-setting. Meaning, we set limits and boundaries on the goals we decide pursue. And that means we’re coming from a scarcity mindset. And we’re playing smaller than we should be. When making goals, make sure not to set arbitrary limits or boundaries in advance. Just go after it and see what’s possible for you.
Lastly and most importantly, we need to build a growth mindset so believe new and big things are possible for us. Because long before we achieve the thing, we have to believe we CAN achieve the thing. And that belief starts with a thought that you decide – on purpose – to think about who you are and what is possible for you.
